Phone Call Success…2 Tips To Increase Sales
Ring! Ring! Ring!
Yes, its Your phone ringing and you have to answer it…but what if it’s a prospect? What are you gonna say? What are you gonna do?
To many people are afraid of the phone when it comes to their home business, which is a major contributing factor in their success or the lack of success that they may be experiencing.
If this sounds like you…trust me, your not alone. Back when I first started I remember HATING the phone because I had no clue what to say, how to say it, how to answer questions, how to lead the prospect through to a sale and most importantly…how to ask for action.
What I have learned since then is that I do not “close” anyone. I lead them through information and they make a choice. You will find that “closing” someone on a sale that does not suit them only causes grief because if your buyer ends up with buyer’s remorse, they will quit as soon as they “come to their senses” and that does not make for a great team.
So today we are going to start a discussion about quality conversations and how you can have the best conversations you have ever had with people who are interested in changing their lives.
The 1st two tips I will be giving have to do with you as a person and how you are going to position yourself on the call…
1. Never try to be the prospects friend because they have plenty of those…they need and are looking for a leader.
You want to build a rapport with people, you want to get to that comfortable level of talking so that you are not going from “Hey how are you” to “here is where you put in your credit card info.”
But don’t spend more than ½ minute on this part because right now you are still sifting and sorting through many leads for the people that can and should be in business for themselves. Don’t get stuck talking about the weather for 20 minutes!
2. As the leader, You are not calling to answer questions, but to ASK the questions!
In any conversation, the person who asks the questions holds the power…I have heard that said a million times, as I am sure you have and yet many of you let the people on the other end of the phone control the conversation!
You never want to play defense because you hold the prize that they are after and you are there to interview them. Its kinda like being the boss and they are coming in to be interviewed for a job.
Get the person to talk about themselves, about their pain, and why they are looking for this opportunity! Are they stressed? Need more time, money, or life? Are they losing money in a business and need to know how to market the correct way?
This will open the door for you to show them the remedy in the form of your opportunity and how it will help them.
Remember that positioning yourself is a key component to any call…
If you don’t show them the leader that you are and take the reins of the phone call…they will leave that call and find someone else that will.

The problem is not that they don’t want to succeed in an online business, its that they don’t have a sufficient reason to move forward. They are comfortable in their situation. Their back is not against a wall and there is no gun to their head.
